Joya Delgado Harris
Ms. Harris has been the Director of Research Integration for the American Cancer Society since 2012. In this role she provides oversight and management of the integration of Extramural Grants Department research and training program outcomes into enterprise-wide organization and mission objectives. Before joining the American Cancer Society, Ms. Harris worked for Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. From 2008 to 2011, Ms. Harris has over a decade of experience in non-profit management, previously serving as the Executive Director for the Association of Village PRIDE and as the Director of Product Development for the Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter of the American Red Cross. Her experience and demonstrated accomplishments in key leadership functions including program development, implementation, and evaluation; curriculum design; grant-writing and resource development; meeting planning; board cultivation and management; and developing business partnerships. Ms. Harris has also served as a Consumer Peer Reviewer for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), administered by the Department of Defense, sitting alongside scientists to review and evaluate innovative breast cancer research grant proposals. Ms. Harris earned a BA from Wellesley College, and received a Masters of Public Health degree with concentration in public health policy and management from the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University. She serves as the immediate Past President of the Atlanta Wellesley Club. Ms. Delgado Harris is 45 years old.
